There are many historical buildings to view and city is famous for its cobbled and narrow streets, it’s magnificent York Minster and of course the wonderful walls that surrounded the ancient city. Today they are the longest most intact walls of any British City.
Find York
York is served by a number of long distance roads. Major roads include the A64 Leeds to Scarborough road which provides the main links to the motorway system and giving access to the A1 and M1 approximately ten miles from the city. The link with the M62 Transpennine motorway is less than twenty miles from York.
